EucoLight marks 10 years of engagement with stakeholder conference in Brussels
14–15 May 2025 | Advancing Sustainable Lighting & Recycling
EucoLight, the European association of lighting WEEE compliance schemes, will celebrate a decade of commitment to responsible waste management and circularity with over 2 billion lamps collected at its 10-Year Anniversary Conference, taking place on 14–15 May 2025 in Brussels et the NH Brussels Berlaymont.
This milestone event will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, environmental organisations, and compliance experts to reflect on ten years of collaboration, share experiences from across Europe, and discuss the lighting industry’s role in the future of the circular economy, with a focus on sustainability. It will be an opportunity to look back on a journey that has made increasingly evident the strong connection between the recycling industry and policies on reuse, regeneration, and recovery; a connection that now calls for even stronger reinforcement.
The conference will open with reflections from EucoLight Chairman Fabrizio D’Amico and Secretary General Marc Guiraud, highlighting the organisation’s achievements and collaborative impact since its founding in 2015. Followed by speakers representing the different actors of the circular economy including, LightingEurope, APPLiA, WEEE Forum, the European WEEE registers Network, LEdvance, Signify and the European commission.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Guillemette Vachey, European Commission – DG Environment
- Natalia Sierra Conde Saraiva de Carvalho, AMBILAMP
- Andreas Adam, Ledvance
- Maurice Loosschilder, Signify
- Elena Scaroni, LightingEurope
- Pascal Leroy, WEEE Forum
- Alexander Goldberg, EWRN
- Stephanie Mittelham, Orgalim
- Paolo Falcioni, APPLIA
- Jan Vlak, Stichting Open
Looking ahead: EucoLight’s vision for the future of the circular economy
The conference will also present EucoLight’s current vision for the future of the lighting recycling industry and a series of proposals in view of, among others, the revision of the WEEE Directive and possible alignment with incoming EU legislative instruments such as the Circular Economy Act, to enhance their effectiveness and applicability homogeneously across EU Member States. In addition, EucoLight will announce the upcoming publication of a new position paper, outlining its recommendations for the revision of the WEEE Directive.
