Preventing evasion of extended producer responsibility obligations through online platforms
Registration is required
number of seats is limited

BACKGROUND TO EVENT
E-commerce means that more and more consumers now purchase through online marketplaces. Therefore, it is increasingly important that companies operating in this way fulfil their environmental, legal and financial obligations. But all too often, they do not. As latest data shows the scale of their non-compliance has reached disturbing proportions.
Over the last 2 years the issue has been raised at EU level through workshops and studies. These have raised awareness of the scale and impact of non-compliant online sales on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) systems.
This event will showcase the work being undertaken by Member States, European Commission and
E-commerce to tackle this issue. It will help create a road-map for driving compliance within online marketplaces.
